1. Who we are

This policy describes how Skinlapse ("the app", "we") handles information. Skinlapse is operated by:

2. The principle: Skinlapse never uploads your photos

Skinlapse is built without accounts, without a cloud and without tracking. Every photo you take with Skinlapse is stored locally on your iPhone only (inside the app's protected container). We have no access to your photos and cannot see them.

You can export or share images and videos yourself, for example to your Photos library or another app, and that only happens when you choose to do it.

We collect no: user accounts, names, email addresses, location data, analytics (no Firebase, no Mixpanel), advertising or tracking SDKs. We never sell data.

3. Data processed locally

• Camera frames for the live preview and your daily progress photos, on-device only.
• Your journey data (capture dates, streak), stored in the local app database.
• Your notes and the names of your routine markers, stored only inside the app on this iPhone. They are never uploaded, they never appear in a video, an image or any export, and they are part of a backup of your iPhone just like the data of other apps.
• Generated videos and images, rendered locally. They only reach your Photos library or another app if you actively save or share them.
• Settings (e.g. reminder time), stored locally.
• Reminders are scheduled as local notifications on your device, no server involved.

4. Face data

Skinlapse is a camera for your own progress photos, so the photos you take with it usually show your face. This section describes everything the app does with them.

• What the app processes: the photos you take with the front camera, and the live camera image shown on screen while you take a photo. The live image is only displayed and is never stored. Each photo is saved together with its date and, if you write one, your note.
• What the app does not do: Skinlapse does not detect, recognize, measure or analyze faces. It creates no face geometry, facial landmarks, face maps, depth data, face templates or any other biometric data. It uses only the regular image of the front camera, no depth or TrueDepth sensor data, and it does not use Face ID. The dashed oval on the camera screen is a fixed guide that does not follow your face. The ghost overlay only shows your previous photo semi-transparently, so you can line up the new photo yourself.
• Purpose: your photos are used only to show them to you in the app, to compare days and to create the images and videos you ask for, such as comparisons and time-lapse videos. They are never used for identification, authentication, advertising, tracking or profiling, and never to train any model.
• Storage: your photos are stored only on your device, as JPEG files in the app's private storage. They are protected by iOS Data Protection and cannot be read while your device is locked. Each file contains the standard metadata that iOS writes into every camera photo, such as capture time and device model, but no location, and Skinlapse adds nothing to it. Skinlapse has no server and never uploads your photos, so we have no access to them. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, iOS includes them in that backup just like the data of other apps.
• Sharing: we do not share your photos, or any information taken from them, with anyone. This includes RevenueCat, our service provider for Pro purchases (section 5), which never receives photos or anything taken from them. Apart from the backups described above, a photo, image or video leaves the app only when you save it to your Photos library yourself (including Settings → “Save all photos to Photos”) or share it through the iOS share sheet. That copy is then handled by the app or service you chose.
• Retention: your photos stay on your device until you delete them. There is no automatic deletion, and starting a new journey keeps your earlier photos stored in the app. Temporary files that the app writes when it creates an image or video for you to save or share are deleted automatically, at the latest the next time the app starts.
• Deletion: to delete today's photo, press and hold it and choose “Delete today's photo”. Retaking today's photo replaces it. Photos from earlier days cannot be deleted one by one, only all together: Settings → “Delete entire journey” permanently removes all photos, including those of earlier journeys, and all notes and journey data from your device. Deleting the app also removes all photos stored in it. Copies you saved to your Photos library or shared, and existing backups of your device, are not affected. Because we never receive your photos, we cannot view, restore or delete them for you.

5. Data processed for purchases (RevenueCat)

To sell and verify Skinlapse Pro, the app uses our service provider RevenueCat, Inc. (USA). The app connects to RevenueCat when it starts and from time to time while it is open, even if you never buy anything. RevenueCat processes on our behalf:

• a randomly generated, anonymous app user ID (not linked to your name, Apple ID or email),
• purchase transaction events from Apple (purchase, renewal, cancellation, refund) to verify your Pro entitlement,
• technical information that the RevenueCat SDK sends with every request: device model, iOS version, app version, preferred languages, App Store country, a device identifier that is the same for all apps of one developer on your device (identifierForVendor) and, as with any internet connection, your IP address.

RevenueCat never receives your photos, your notes or anything taken from them. Payment details are handled exclusively by Apple; we never see them. Transfers to the US rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Details: revenuecat.com/privacy, apple.com/legal/privacy.

6. Permissions

• Camera: for the live preview and your daily photo. Active in the foreground only.
• Add to Photos: only when you actively trigger it, to save a video you created, or to back up all your journey photos to your own Photos library (Settings → “Save all photos to Photos”).
• Notifications (optional): for your daily reminder, scheduled locally.

You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR (and similar laws such as UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA) you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since we collect virtually no personal data, there is usually nothing to hand over or delete. On request via halorasupport@gmail.com we will reset or delete the anonymous ID stored with RevenueCat.

8. Children

Skinlapse is rated 4+, knowingly collects no data from children and requires no account. In-app purchases require Apple ID confirmation or Family Sharing "Ask to Buy".

9. Changes

If we make material changes, we will update this policy and the date above. The current version always lives at this URL.
